My system used to be 25H2. I used ISO of 26H2 to fix some problems. I kept my settings and data. After that each time my laptop wake up from sleep (S0 mode) system becomes laggy until I open Intel® Graphics Software and click on it or press win+ctrl+shift+B【edit: now it's found that sleep doesn't matter. Closing the screen alone is enough to bring laggy】 here's some of my system info ovo • 0 Reputation points 2026-10-28T23:19:08.4866667+00:00 I found something more. I change the behaviour of closing the lid from"sleep" to "do nothing".When closing my laptop actually doesn't bring S0 sleep (Indicator light of my laptop shows it), only turns off the screen, it still gets laggy after I open it. 0 votes I found something more. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type “msconfig” (without quotes) and press Enter. In the System Configuration window, select the Services tab. Check the box next to “Hide all Microsoft services”. Ensure you do it carefully, and not disable all Microsoft services. Click on “Disable all”. Select the Startup tab and click on “Open Task Manager”. In the Task Manager window, select each startup item and click on “Disable”. Close Task Manager and click on OK in the System Configuration window. Restart your computer. 4 comments Show comments for this answer ovo • 0 Reputation points 2026-10-27T14:30:43.9066667+00:00 got some progress.I followed your steps. Now here's the things I found: after every startup, the problem disappears. But it seems that if I open any webview2 apps (I've determined chrome, clock, even win+N), the problem appears. Opening others like Windows Notepad and Explorer doesn't bring the problem. 0 votes ovo • 0 Reputation points 2026-10-27T14:35:33.4166667+00:00 And-- wait, I just found that it doesn't matter whether I follow your steps. Just because I always open chrome at the beginning. And those time I thought it fixed were due to this.(I just didn't open chrome those times) After all, now one more thing is determined: this service(or someting else) acturally doesn't automatically run at the startup. 0 votes ovo • 0 Reputation points 2026-10-27T14:40:07.25+00:00 and hey, I'm signed out of all the websites in chrome now. do you have any ideas? 0 votes ovo • 0 Reputation points 2026-11-01T00:57:22.1166667+00:00 Could you come back and look at my question again? 0 votes Sign in to comment Add comment Seems like a problem with the Display software conflict. Remove the Display drivers completely and Install the newest copy of the driver, available from the OEM or the GPU maker. The steps for it are here: https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2022/02/troubleshoot-display-driver-issues-in-windows-11.html Please download DDU from this link . Extract the ZIP file and Open the DDU (ver).exe file. Extract the folder contents when prompted. Run the file . Click Close on Preferences. On the right pane, select GPU. If you have Audio issues or multiple displays, select Audio. Select the GPU, i.e., Intel/AMD/Nvidia. If you have multiple GPUs in a laptop, remove one by one. Straightaway, select the Clean and Restart button. This step would remove the driver and restart your computer, which can fix Windows 11 display issues. After Windows restarts, try this Lenovo driver. Pause Windows updates as well. https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/oet10d7f2htt56f0.exe I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting. But I did an experiment just now. Actually only by swiching to the "Display" page can it temporarily solve laggy. 0 votes Sign in to comment Add comment Thank you. So the situation now is that only by reseting all settings in Intel® Graphics Software, then switch between old and new Intel drivers can the problem be solved, and if I open Intel® Graphics Software again I have to do so again. That means I can hardly change my display settings. I don't mind though 0 votes Sign in to comment Add comment I assumed the issue isn't solved. Please supply the following Information. It seems to be related to power saving settings. To those meets similar issues: I fixed it by installing an older version of driver, uninstalled the previous one, then reupdate the driver by Windows update. I failed at the first time because I adjust the power efficiency settings again after the last step and the problem appeared again. that's why I think it's related to power saving settings of Intel® Graphics Software. 1 comment Show comments for this answer ovo • 0 Reputation points 2026-10-26T02:18:40.45+00:00 update again: It seems to be related to the whole Intel® Graphics Software damn it. AI answer 2026-10-26T00:03:10.77+00:00 Reinstall the Lenovo-approved Intel Iris Xe graphics driver cleanly, because resetting the graphics driver clears the lag and no matching Windows 11 26H2-wide issue is currently documented. Reinstall the graphics driver Win+Ctrl+Shift+B explicitly resets the graphics driver, so its consistently restoring performance narrows the problem to the graphics/display path after S0 Modern Standby resume rather than establishing a general OS-performance fault. ^1^ Download the current Intel graphics driver for the ThinkBook 16 G6 IRL from Lenovo Support before removing anything. Prefer Lenovo’s package first because it is customized for the laptop’s firmware and power configuration. Open Device Manager → Display adapters → Intel Iris Xe Graphics → Properties → Driver . Record the current driver version and date . Select Uninstall Device , enable Attempt to remove the driver for this device , and select OK . Administrator permission is required. Restart the laptop. Install the Lenovo graphics package downloaded in step 1, then restart again. Test several sleep/wake cycles without opening Intel Graphics Software or pressing the reset shortcut. If Attempt to remove the driver for this device is unavailable, Microsoft advises performing the removal from Safe Mode. ^1^ If the latest Lenovo driver is already installed and the symptom started immediately after the ISO upgrade: In Device Manager → Display adapters → Intel Iris Xe Graphics → Properties → Driver , select Roll Back Driver , if available, and restart. If rollback is unavailable, install the previous Lenovo-approved graphics version manually. Do not use an unrelated model’s package. Also install the ThinkBook’s current chipset and BIOS/UEFI updates from Lenovo if newer versions are available; post-upgrade lag can involve graphics, chipset, or firmware compatibility. ^2^ Windows 11 26H2 status Build 26300.9711 is Windows 11 26H2, but the published 26H2 issue list does not currently identify Intel Iris Xe lag after Modern Standby resume as a known broad issue. Install the latest cumulative update through Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates , but the documented 26H2 black-screen issue concerns desktop loading—primarily in Azure Virtual Desktop—and does not match this post-wake lag symptom. ^3^ If reinstalling or rolling back the driver does not fix it Capture a Modern Standby trace that includes the faulty resume: Install the Windows Performance Toolkit from the Windows ADK. Open Command Prompt as administrator . Start recording: mkdir C:\Temp 2>nul wpr -start Power Put the laptop into sleep for 5–10 minutes. Wake it and wait until the lag is visible.
