Whenever I watch a video in full screen, windows just keep auto adjusting the brightness setting. If I switch back to normal the screen gets dim all way down, I go back to full screen it gets brighter all way up, I switch to another window and gets dimmer aall way down again. This is extremely upseting, it didn't happen before. How can I fix windows from behaving this stupid? In case anyone asks or suggests it: All my drivers are up to date. This only happens when watching videos in full screen mode. I don't have a way to disable "adaptive brightness" from "power options" ever since some dim witted developer from Microsoft deleted this option. Buying and wearing sun glasses just to make windows usable again is not a good option, not even a solution. ********************************************************** ********************************************************** I installed a process monitor to check out what was happening. I noticed that Bitdefender was triggering at the very same time as the video playback whenever I switched from full screen to normal screen and vice-versa when watching any video. Digging up, I found out that my antivirus (Bitdefender 2019) was messing around with the power options due to a rather useless feature called "Profiles". It was set to automatically activate profiles. I found this thread on the VLC forum, which explains better what was happening in my case . Locked Question. Please, see the update on my original post. 0 comments No comments Hi Kapil, thanks for your reply. I tried as suggested but it didn't work.
