As Yahoo Canada's senior shopping editor, I spend a good chunk of time between August and November reviewing advent calendars — my Christmas equivalent of homework. This year, I unboxed the Sephora Collection Advent Calendar and worked my way through several cups of festive tea blends, courtesy of Tea Forté's tea advent calendar . I consider myself an advent calendar enthusiast . Alongside presents and stocking stuffers , they're one of my favourite (shoppable) parts of the holiday season — a gift that keeps on giving, at least until Dec. 24. With so many advent calendars competing for a spot on your Christmas wish list, I'll be spending the coming weeks putting some of the season's most-wanted advent calendars to the test and sharing my honest thoughts on each. On today's agenda: the Bonne Maman 2026 Advent Calendar . Quick shop: Bonne Maman 2026 Advent Calendar Bonne Maman 2026 Advent Calendar Brimming with miniature jars of the brand's iconic jams and spreads, this bestselling advent calendar has developed a reputation — and a cult following — as a holiday must-have. Last year, Bonne Maman's 2025 advent calendar was a bestseller among Yahoo Canada readers. Therefore, when the 2026 gift set was released earlier this summer, I was eager to get my hands on it. My first impression? The packaging is gorgeous. The box opens to reveal a 24-door advent calendar featuring an adorably festive illustration. Inside, Bonne Maman's jams are housed in its famous French-inspired jars with gingham lids. Best advent calendars of 2026 Lovehoney Enjoy Advent Calendar (24 Day) Sephora Collection Advent Calendar 24 Days of Tea Advent Calendar Clue Advent Calendar: Secrets Under Snowfall LANEIGE 12 Days of Wonder Korean Skincare & Lip Favorites Advent Calendar Based on my jam-spreading technique, each jar contains roughly two servings (enough for 2-3 pieces of toast). Of course, you could likely stretch that further, but for one-ounce jars, there's not much left over. I haven't worked my way through all 24 of the spreads yet (a girl can only eat so much toast!), but of the handful I've tried, the jams and spreads are fresh and tasty. My advent calendar suggests a "best used" date of June 2027, so even if I don't finish all of the spreads before Christmas, I have plenty of time to enjoy them. Spoiler alert: The advent calendar also includes three wooden ornaments (Photo via Kayla Kuefler). Room for improvement The only real flag I have for the Bonne Maman 2026 Advent Calendar is the price. At $134, it's certainly not one of the year's most expensive advent calendars , but it's not cheap, either. The advent calendar contains 23 one-ounce jars and three wooden Christmas ornaments. That said, I still think the advent calendar is worth it, given the variety and the high-quality packaging. The individual jams are also cute enough to re-gift, whether as just-because gifts or stocking stuffers . I have tested dozens of advent calendars during my time as a shopping editor and the Bonne Maman 2026 Advent Calendar is one of the best in the biz. From its high-quality packaging and illustrations to the plethora of jams and spreads it contains, the gift set is a must-have for foodies. It boasts a unique (and delicious) assortment of jams and makes a great gift for almost anyone on your list.
