Generate an ED2K link from a local file without uploading its contents. Follow real screenshots from file selection to copying the result.

1. Select your local file
Open the ED2K generator , click Select files , and choose a complete file on your device. You can also drag files into the selection area. A filename or a web address alone is not enough to calculate its hash.
2. Review the queue and start hashing
Confirm the filename and size in the queue, then click Start hashing . The example uses tutorial-demo.txt , a 27-byte text file. Larger files take more reading and computation; keep the page open and the source file accessible until it finishes.
3. Copy the generated link
When conversion finishes, use the row's copy action for one result or Copy all for the batch. The screenshot shows the confirmation after copying. Paste the result into a text editor to keep a complete copy; TXT and CSV export are also available in the result area.
The real link calculated for this demo is:
This is an instructional sample, not a promised downloadable resource. Your file will produce its own size and hash.
4. Check or use the result
Paste it into the link checker to inspect its fields. To submit a task elsewhere, read how to open and download ED2K links , or go directly to the 115 and PikPak guides.
What is uploaded or saved?
Hashing is performed locally in the browser. Saving records is a separate feature: filenames, sizes and generated links are metadata and may be stored according to the save mode you use. “No file upload” refers to file contents; it does not mean every site feature stores nothing. Keep your own exported copy when you need a lasting record.
Frequently asked questions
Do videos and ZIP files require different steps?
No. The calculation reads file bytes. Choose the actual complete file; you do not need to rename it or convert its format.
Will renaming a file change its link?
The filename field changes. If the bytes remain identical, the size and ED2K hash remain identical. Editing the file's contents can change the hash.
Why does a large file take longer?
The browser must read and process its contents. File size, disk speed, device performance and browser scheduling affect the time. Do not assume the page has finished before its completion status appears.
Does the generated link let other people download my file?
Only if a compatible network or service can obtain the matching file data. Generating the identifier alone does not publish those bytes.
